Kitchen, part 2

So the remodeling continues. . .  many rotten boards were found behind those walls and had to be replaced or reinforced.  This was quite time-consuming.  Electrical work and plumbing also took place during this time, but that's really not visible here except for the little blue boxes which are future light switches or receptacles!

The future bar is built!  This is probably the feature I'm most excited about.  Will is too.  When we explained what it was he said, "so we can sit here at the counter and Mom can SERVE US!"  I told him he'd be waiting a long time!  :)

The area in the center that is covered in plastic is where the door to the garage USED to be.  Now the door is on the other side and you would come in right next to the bar with the bar on your right.

Drywall!  I think this was the most dramatic change for me where it really started to look like a new livable space.

The floor is (mostly) level and ready to tile!

Sometime in November

This post shows 2 months of work in a few photos.  We underestimated how much time would be spent planning & making decisions, like where to put light switches & outlets, and lights in the ceiling, etc!  Oh boy, this was just for one room.  Good thing we aren't building a house!
